The revenue of the market for tube or pipe fittings (of iron or steel) in the Middle East dropped to $3.9B in 2024, declining by -9% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, consumption enjoyed a pronounced increase. The level of consumption peaked at $4.5B in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2024, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Turkey (261K tons) constituted the country with the largest volume of iron or steel tube fitting consumption, accounting for 45% of total volume. Moreover, iron or steel tube fitting consumption in Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest consumer, Saudi Arabia (90K tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by the United Arab Emirates (79K tons), with a 14% share.

In Turkey, iron or steel tube fitting consumption increased at an average annual rate of +12.0% over the period from 2013-2024. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (-1.9% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+0.2% per year).

In value terms, Turkey ($1.8B) led the market, alone. The second position in the ranking was held by Saudi Arabia ($593M). It was followed by Israel.

From 2013 to 2024, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Turkey stood at +13.6%. The remaining consuming countries recorded the following average annual rates of market growth: Saudi Arabia (-0.5% per year) and Israel (+13.3% per year).

The countries with the highest levels of iron or steel tube fitting per capita consumption in 2024 were Qatar (11 kg per person), the United Arab Emirates (7.8 kg per person) and Israel (3.6 kg per person).

From 2013 to 2024, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +10.7%), while consumption for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the per capita consumption figures.

Iron or steel tube fitting production rose slightly to 290K tons in 2024, picking up by 3.2% compared with 2023 figures. Overall, production continues to indicate resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the production volume increased by 69% against the previous year. The volume of production peaked at 299K tons in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, iron or steel tube fitting production fell to $2.2B in 2024 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the production volume increased by 158%. The level of production peaked at $3.4B in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2024, production remained at a lower figure.

Turkey (251K tons) remains the largest iron or steel tube fitting producing country in the Middle East, comprising approx. 87% of total volume. Moreover, iron or steel tube fitting production in Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Israel (32K tons), eightfold.

In Turkey, iron or steel tube fitting production increased at an average annual rate of +12.9% over the period from 2013-2024. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Israel (+7.8% per year) and Kuwait (-4.3% per year).

For the third consecutive year, the Middle East recorded growth in purchases abroad of tube or pipe fittings (of iron or steel), which increased by 1% to 358K tons in 2024. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 11%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 546K tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2024, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, iron or steel tube fitting imports contracted to $2.2B in 2024. Overall, imports, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2023 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $2.5B in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2024, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2024, the United Arab Emirates (103K tons) and Saudi Arabia (96K tons) were the main importers of tube or pipe fittings (of iron or steel) in the Middle East, together creating 56% of total imports. Turkey (40K tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Qatar (34K tons), Iraq (30K tons) and Iran (20K tons). All these countries together took approx. 35% share of total imports. Oman (12K tons) took a little share of total imports.

From 2013 to 2024, the biggest increases were recorded for Qatar (with a CAGR of +2.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($677M), the United Arab Emirates ($470M) and Turkey ($330M) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2024, with a combined 68% share of total imports. Qatar, Iraq, Oman and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.

Among the main importing countries, Qatar, with a CAGR of +5.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Tube or pipe flanges, other than stainless steel (83K tons) and tube or pipe butt welding fittings, other than stainless steel (70K tons) were the largest types of tube or pipe fittings (of iron or steel) in 2024, finishing at approx. 23% and 20% of total imports, respectively. Tube or pipe fittings of non-stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings (45K tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by tube or pipe fittings of stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings (43K tons), iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast iron (41K tons), tube or pipe fittings of non-malleable cast iron (29K tons) and tube or pipe flanges of stainless steel (22K tons). All these products together took approx. 50% share of total imports.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key imported products, was attained by tube or pipe fittings of stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings (with a CAGR of +3.7%), while imports for the other products experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

In value terms, tube or pipe flanges, other than stainless steel ($384M), tube or pipe butt welding fittings, other than stainless steel ($356M) and tube or pipe fittings of non-stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings ($354M) were the products with the highest levels of imports in 2024, with a combined 51% share of total imports. Tube or pipe fittings of stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings, tube or pipe flanges of stainless steel, iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast iron, tube or pipe butt welding fittings of stainless steel, tube or pipe fittings of non-malleable cast iron, tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves, other than stainless steel and tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves of stainless steel lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.

Among the main imported products, tube or pipe butt welding fittings of stainless steel, with a CAGR of +2.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2024, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $6,050 per ton, falling by -6.2% against the previous year. Import price indicated mild growth from 2013 to 2024: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2024 figures, iron or steel tube fitting import price increased by +51.1% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 30%. The level of import peaked at $6,450 per ton in 2023, and then reduced in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was tube or pipe butt welding fittings of stainless steel ($16,683 per ton), while the price for tube or pipe fittings of non-malleable cast iron ($4,078 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2024, overseas shipments of tube or pipe fittings (of iron or steel) were finally on the rise to reach 68K tons for the first time since 2021, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, saw a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 60% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at 162K tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2024, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, iron or steel tube fitting exports shrank to $514M in 2024. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2013 to 2024; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2022 when exports increased by 28%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $617M. From 2023 to 2024, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Turkey (30K tons) and the United Arab Emirates (23K tons) prevails in exports structure, together achieving 78% of total exports. Saudi Arabia (6.2K tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Israel (5.6K tons). All these countries together held near 17% share of total exports. Iran (1.3K tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Iran (with a CAGR of +18.1%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In value terms, the largest iron or steel tube fitting supplying countries in the Middle East were Turkey ($172M), Israel ($147M) and the United Arab Emirates ($134M), together accounting for 88% of total exports. Saudi Arabia and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.1%.

Iran, with a CAGR of +12.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Tube or pipe butt welding fittings, other than stainless steel (14K tons), tube or pipe fittings of non-stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings (14K tons), iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast iron (9.8K tons) and tube or pipe flanges, other than stainless steel (9.8K tons) represented roughly 70% of total exports in 2024. Tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves, other than stainless steel (5.6K tons) took an 8.3% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by tube or pipe fittings of stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings (8.1%) and tube or pipe flanges of stainless steel (5.2%).

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exported products, was attained by tube or pipe butt welding fittings, other than stainless steel (with a CAGR of +6.1%), while the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, tube or pipe fittings of non-stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings ($104M), tube or pipe fittings of stainless steel, other than flanges, elbows, bends, sleeves or butt welding fittings ($81M) and tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves, other than stainless steel ($58M) constituted the products with the highest levels of exports in 2024, with a combined 47% share of total exports. Tube or pipe flanges, other than stainless steel, iron or steel cast fittings, other than of non-malleable cast iron, tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves of stainless steel, tube or pipe butt welding fittings, other than stainless steel, tube or pipe flanges of stainless steel, tube or pipe fittings of non-malleable cast iron and tube or pipe butt welding fittings of stainless steel lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 53%.

Tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves of stainless steel, with a CAGR of +9.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exported products over the period under review, while shipments for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2024, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $7,537 per ton, dropping by -10.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 when the export price increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $8,419 per ton in 2023, and then contracted in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves of stainless steel ($32,854 per ton), while the average price for exports of tube or pipe butt welding fittings, other than stainless steel ($3,240 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by tube or pipe threaded elbows, bends and sleeves of stainless steel (+19.2%), while the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2024, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $7,537 per ton, reducing by -10.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2022 an increase of 33%. The level of export peaked at $8,419 per ton in 2023, and then reduced in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($26,287 per ton), while Iran ($1,956 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
